Who Are The Desperate Gardeners?

Here we are both living in Scottsdale, Arizona and are committed gardeners who love to cook with what we grow! We met in the fall of 2002, when we were both invited to be a part of a new Gardening Group, where Jane was the master Gardener who taught gardening basics. After many years of successfully gardening together in our challenging climate, Linda and Jane decided it was time to take their passion for gardening, cooking and the ways it can enhance our home and yours. In March of 2009 The Desperate Gardeners was planted.

We absolutely LOVE:

- growing organic produce
- raising chickens
- providing organic food for our families
-teaching and encouraging others how to garden
- involving our children in the garden
- reading seed catalogs ( seriously!!)
- cooking using products from the garden
- planting roses, fruit trees and flowers

Ironically we both grew up on the East Coast in New York, Jane Upstate and Linda on Long Island. We inherited our love of gardening and cooking from our Parents and Grandparents and Great-Grandparents. Our goal is to share how growing, preparing and eating from the garden along with the many memories of family continue to positively shape our lives and those that we love.
